The Walser culture in Triesenberg
In the 13th century, migrants from the Valais region of Switzerland settled in Triesenberg. Having been granted special rights and freedoms, they led an isolated but independent existence. Their rural and domestic life is impressively depicted in the Walser Museum and in the old Walser House. The traditions and customs of the Walser people are also exhibited on the Walser Legends Trail and inside the historical buildings.
