400-year-old Walser House in the district of Hag
A guided tour offers the chance to experience 19th-century domestic life and culture.
Dating from the 17th century
The classic timber building stands on a base of mud brick masonry. The layout reflects the typical style from the late Middle Ages to the beginning of this century.
Simplicity
The house contains the sparse furnishings that were common at the time, with an open fireplace, a soot-blackened kitchen, poor heating from a clay stove, and little light. The confined space would have been occupied by a large family. Visitors can enjoy a fascinating guided tour of the Walser House.
Accessibility
The house is 200 metres from the Walser Museum and can only be reached on foot.
