The Walser Museum – Lots to discover

The Walser Museum documents the culture and history of the Valais migrants who settled in Triesenberg in the 13th century.

The culture of the Walser people

The people’s history of migration, language, civil liberties, farming methods, religion and funerary customs within their secluded society offers a wealth of fascinating topics to learn about.

Rural and domestic life

The Walser people in Triesenberg were self-sufficient and produced practically everything themselves, from food and cloth to generating their own light sources. Their farming system, with its stand-alone alpine dairies, was highly sophisticated.
